Two Nigerians sent to 12 years in prison in Vietnam for email fraud

A Vietnamese court has sentenced two Nigerian men, Christian Nnadike, 34, and Collins Deke, 37, (pictured above) to 12 years each in a Vietnam prison for hacking into emails of local companies, contact the company's foreign partners and swindle them of their money.

The men along with a Vietnamese female accomplice, Le Thi Kim Quyen, 35, who was sentenced to 15 years in prison and another Nigerian, de facto husband of the Vietnamese lady, Mark Mamado Abdallah, 39, who is currently at large, ran a scamming syndicate in Vietnam.


At the court hearing which took play in April, the men and their accomplice were also found guilty of another fraud scheme in which they pretended to be a British friend of two Vietnamese women on Facebook and asked them to send money as shipping fees to receive gifts.

According to prosecutors, the group defrauded many unsuspecting victims of over VND3.3 billion (US$150,000) between April and August 2013. Most of this came from the email hacking scheme.

Prosecutors said over the four months, the vietnamese woman, Quyen and her Nigerian husband, Abdallah hacked into the emails of several Vietnamese companies doing business with foreign companies. They gave the information to Nnadikwe and then Deke, who would later transfer it to another Nigerian man living in Malaysia. The unknown man in Malaysia then used the compromised email accounts to contact the victims’ foreign partners, asking them to send payments to a bank account opened by Quyen and Abdallah.

Wife of Pharmacist who allegedly committed suicide released from police custody

Busayo, the wife of the Lagos pharmacist, Paul Olafare, who was arrested and detained following the death of her husband who allegedly committed suicide on April 12th, has been released by the police after spending 28 days in detention in Panti. Busayo, who was arrested after a report was filed by her late husband's family, who suspected she had a hand in his death, was released on May 8th after the autopsy result carried out on her late husband was released. The police has however not made the result of the autopsy known.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Monday, May 11, 2015 arraigned Uchenna Nwako, Ejikeme Oluchukwu, Nnamani Ikechukwu, Ibeh kodili Martins and Nwako Victoria Ifeoma before Justice D.V Agishir of the Federal High Court, Enugu, on a 16-count charge bordering on intent to defraud and obtaining N26,338,000 by false pretence.

The five accused persons were picked up by EFCC operatives on February 27, 2013 after intelligence reports indicated that they were involved in fraudulent activities bordering on cybercrime.

Part of the charge read: “That you Uchenna Nwako, Ejikme Oluchukwu, Nnamani Ikechukwu, Ibeh Kodili Martins and Nwako Victoria Ifeoma sometime in November 2012 in Enugu, Enugu State within the jurisdiction of the Federal High Court of Nigeria, conspired among yourselves to commit an unlawful act to wit: obtaining money by false pretense and thereby committed an offense contrary to Section 8(a) and punishable under section 1(3) of Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act, 2006.

“That you Nwako Victoria Ifeoma and Uchenna Nwako on or about October 18, 2012 in Enugu, Enugu State within the jurisdiction of the Federal High Court of Nigeria, concealed and disguised the origin of the sum of N8,940,000 which is proceed of an unlawful activity by causing the said money to be paid into the Zenith Bank account number 1013144345 of Ifechina Enterprises Limited, a private limited company jointly owned by both of you, and you thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 15(2)(a) and punishable under Section 15(3) of the Money Laundering Act , 2011 (As Amended).”

They however, pleaded not guilty, when the charges were read to them. In view of their plea, the EFCC counsel, M. A. Ekwu, requested for a date to be fixed for trial of the accused persons to begin. Defence counsel, A. Oyenkwere, however requested bail for his clients, which was opposed by Ekwu. Ekwu argued that only Ikechukwu who had honoured the terms of the administrative bail deserved bail. Ikechukwu was thereafter granted bail in the sum of N1,000,000 with one surety who must be either a seasoned businessman that owns a landed property with a C of O, or a civil servant of Grade Level 15 or above.

The case was adjourned till May 13, 2015 for consideration of the bail application of the other accused persons, who were ordered to be remanded in EFCC custody.

ISIS sets ‘honey traps’ to ensnare and execute homosexuals

In its crusade against homosexuals, the Islamic State is now resorting to sting operations, using jihadists posing as gay men to coax out offenders and execute them.
According to reports, a special unit of militia has been formed within ISIS to deal specifically with the eradication of homosexuals from Syria, Iraq and Libya.

One method employed is for militiamen of the Caliphate to send anonymous invitations for blind dates for men only; those who respond are summarily executed.

According to dissident groups working in the area, ISIS religious police have also begun pretending to be gay men in order to ferret others out, before arresting and executing them.

The ISIS regime views sodomy as the most deplorable practice, one punishable by death.

The terrorist group has already published a series of graphic videos showing the murder of supposed gay men, who are often thrown from tall buildings and stoned to death.

Some clips show large crowds gathered to watch the executions and pelt the men with stones.

Yemenis ordered to leave Saada province

The Arab coalition carried out air strikes on Friday in Yemen’s Saada, a bastion of Houthi rebels, and warned all civilians to leave the restive province after declaring the entire territory a “military target.” Saudi state television channel Al Ekhbariya said on Friday that the entire region would become a military target, as General Ahmed al-Asiri, the military spokesman for the coalition, said leaflets had been dropped in the Old Saada district urging residents to leave by 19:00 local time (16:00 GMT) on Friday. The escalation comes in response to recent cross border attacks by the Houthis, which targeted Saudi cities near the Saudi-Yemen frontier. “Our work now is reaching those [Houthis] who planned these attacks and who are hiding in Saada, and the places where the militias are,” Asiri said. “Our military operation will be longer and harsher, and will go after all Houthi commanders,” he added. Al Jazeera’s Mohamed Vall, reporting from Riyadh, said the annoucement was the first time the coalition said it was going after the entire Houthi leadership. Mortar and rocket salvoes fired from Saada killed eight people in the Saudi city of Najran on Tuesday and Wednesday, and Houthi forces shelled a Saudi air defence site near Najran on Thursday. In response, the coalition launched more than 50 air raids in Saada overnight, destroying a suspected land-mine factory, a telecommunications complex and command centers
